What is Google My Business (GMB)?

Google My business is a way of representing your business on Google. It allows you to take your business online and connect too many people without going door to door. Google my business gives an opportunity to aware people about the motive of your business, products or services and easy connect to place order.

You can find the Google My Business account as shown below:



 When people search for any local business, it is usually determined by two types –

·        Near me

·        City or state name

For example:

1.     Digital Marketing in Chandigarh

2.     Digital Marketing near me

3.     Digital Marketing in Delhi

 

How to create a Google My Business account?

1.     You need a Google Id to create account on Google My Business.

2.     Once you are logged in from the Google Id, Go to the Google My Business official site and add your Business to Google.

3.     Add your Business name and after that the category of your business.

4.     You can add the location and the address.

5.     At this stage you will be asked is this your business?

If it is a new business then you are supposed to select – None of these.

If the same business of your exist then select the matching option.

6.     Select you location accurately.

7.     At this step you will be asked if you serve customers outside this location.

-         Select Yes/No as per the business.

8.     You can add the areas you serve

9.     Her you are asked about what contact details you want to show the customers. Enter you complete contact details. You can also share you website URL and if you do not have a website then select – I don’t need a website.

10.    Now click on finish and you can manage your listing.

11.   The most important part is to get your account/business verified. So Google my     business asks the way to verify. A post card is sent to the address provided to verify the   location

 Enter the name of the person who will receive the postcard.

 Click on mail.

 You can opt to verify later also.

12.  Add your services that you provide. If your services are not mentioned,  or if you wish   to customize your services then select “Add custom services”.

13.  After you save, you can also mention your business working hours.

14.  To enhance the view of your account, write a description about your business and add     photos.

15.  Your account setup is complete.

 

A dashboard of Google my business will open where you can update the basic information such as:

-         Business description

-         Service option

-         Photos

 Always try to keep your business account updated and add relevant photos of your business which will help in viewer’s engagement.
